I dare disagree: this was a blast!
Still somewhat slow despite its truncated plot and bizarrely dark at times, I couldn't take my eyes off of it! It's really just a theater play coutured for the bigger screen - but oh, how very fittingly! Sudden, satirical, and exploring a wide scale of coercion and coax to eliminate a suitor, this is truly a clash of two stupendous actors and pretty solid directing. The humor is subtle, the lines are fantastic. I suppose it calls for an acquired, not to mention highly refined taste. But once acquired, you're in for a real treat ;)
As a woman, I found the prospect of two men competing over a lady whose face never appears on the screen strangely appealing... hehehe.
Law: "She said you're lousy in bed."
Caine: "She said that? She was kidding. I'm wonderful in bed!"
